Bells for Biodiversity
Simple solutions to protect biodiversity!
Bells for biodiversity is an initiative to protect and preserve our unique urban biodiversity.
Cats pose one of the biggest threats to reptiles, birds, and small mammals, but they also hold a place in our hearts as treasured pets.
We aim to raise awareness and provide cat owners with easy solutions to reduce their cats’ impact.
The facts
Domestic cats pose one of the biggest threats to urban biodiversity – we aim to reduce the numbers of wildlife killed by cats.
Cats kill 230 million native Australian animals each year
One cat alone can kill up to 200 wild animals annually
Only 29% of cats are kept indoors
Cats kept indoors kill 0 animals!
Cats with bells kill half as many animals
